As I am writing up this recipe for you I am dreaming about making it again this week! This Crockpot Macaroni Cheese is ultra creamy and a family favorite.

This meal is every kid’s dream. Forget about store-bought ready-to-make mac and cheese, this is the real deal, and your kids will love it. Crockpot Macaroni Cheese is easy to make, cheesy, and delicious.

As I am writing up this recipe for you I am dreaming about making it again this week! This Crockpot Macaroni Cheese is ultra creamy and a family favorite.

I use two types of cheese in this and cream cheese to thicken the sauce, no need for a flour and butter roux to make this.

There’s something about slow-cooking food that makes it taste better than food cooked on the stovetop.

  • The best thing about Crockpot Macaroni Cheese  is that you can add anything to it, and it will taste amazing. Lobster, shrimp, jalapenos, you name it.
  • The best thing about Crockpot Macaroni Cheese  is that you don’t have to keep an eye on it, and unless you forget about it, you can’t burn it. You can vary the amount of milk to make it more or less cheesy.

So make some Allfood.recipes Cooker Macaroni and Cheese and enjoy the smiles, hugs, and kisses from your kids.

Should I boil the noodles?

Yes! The slow cooker does not get hot enough, fast enough to properly cook noodles. You will be left with a chalky mess if you do not boil the noodles.

Directions:

  • Start by boiling the noodles as directed on the package. Do not cook a minute longer. Get other ingredients ready while pasta cooks.
  • After draining pasta add it to the slow cooker while it’s still hot and add remaining ingredients. Stir.

How to make Crockpot Macaroni Cheese:

You will need these ingredients:

  • Dried elbow noodles (we will cook them in first step on the stove-top)
  • Cream cheese
  • Sharp cheddar
  • White sharp cheddar
  • Milk
  • Salt and pepper

That’s it! May not be the healthiest meal but at least it has real ingredients.

How long to cook:

Add the lid and set the slow cooker to High. Cook for 2 hours. Stirring occasionally.

What to serve this with:

  • Sliced garden tomatoes
  • Slow Cooker Ribs
  • Any type of grilled meat
  • Garden salad with dressing
  • Fresh fruit
  • Steamed veggies

I think your family will enjoy this recipe as much as mine does. Enjoy!

Who Created the First Macaroni and Cheese?

So who came up with the idea to combine elbow macaroni with creamy cheese to create this simple, yet perfectly complementary concoction? As you might expect, mac and cheese traces its roots to Italy, home of many culinary delights. The “Liber de Coquina,” or “Book of Cooking,” an Italian cookbook from the 13th century, includes a recipe called de lasanis that foodie historians believe is the first macaroni and cheese recipe. The recipe calls for sheet pasta cut into 2-inch (5-centimeter) squares, cooked in water and tossed with grated cheese, likely Parmesan

Did Jefferson invent mac and cheese?
Thomas Jefferson didn’t invent mac and cheese, but he did help make the dish popular in America. Jefferson reportedly loved mac and cheese when he tried it in Italy, and he had White House chefs recreate and serve the dish during his presidency.
